Features
The middle drive / courtyard setting of the Nelson Lofts is to be built of cobblestone and green space. The cobble drive / courtyard style system is inspired from an important urban development strategy originating from the Dutch, known as "Wonerf".
"Wonerf" is a Dutch term meaning "living street: designed for vehicles, but de-emphasizing the vehicle traffic with pedestrians having the right of way. Hence, emphasizing foot traffic, green patches, benches, and child's play. It is a space designed to be shared by pedestrians, playing children, bicyclists, and low-speed motor vehicles.
